PORTUGUESE ORDERS FOR A.E.C.
UTNIA0 DE TRANSPORTADORES 1.-/ PARA IMPORTACAO LDA., Lisbon, have placed orders with A.E.C., Ltd., for 14 Reliance underfloor-engined singledecker chassis sets, following a similar order for 50 such sets a few months ago. They have also ordered four complete Reliance chassis which are to be fitted
with bodies, and a repeat order has been placed for two Monarch VI goods chassis. NEW PLASTICS FROM LC.I.
THE Plastics division of 1.C.I., Ltd.. last Friday introduced their brand of polypropylene, named Propathene.
Development of the new material is at present confined mainly to the domestic commodity field, but there is little doubt that its properties of low density, high strength and ability to stand temperatures up to 160 deg. C. in comparison with polythene, will make it suitable for use in vehicle fittings and body components.
