IN VIEW OF the increasing difficulty encountered by delivery vehicles with parking restrictions, etc, I wonder if the following idea may help.
Could not towns/cities be divided into zones and provided with an open space away from busy thoroughfares for vehicles to unload?
From there, fork-lift trucks — ideally adapted to carry wheeled pallets, battery electric for day or night use — could enter narrow streets as circumstances allow.
It seems so obvious, I suppose it is impracticable. Your valued opinion would be much appreciated.
