QEVENTY-EIGHT bus drivers )--) employed by the North Western Road Car Co. at Altrincham, Biddulph, Buxton, Glossop, Macclesfield, Manchester, Matlock, Northwich, Oldham, Stockport, Urmston and Wilmslow, were presented with awards which recognized from five to 25 years' safe driving at a dinner held at the Alma Lodge Hotel, Stockport, last week. Mr. William Leese, general manager of the company, announced that in the safe driving and conductors awards of merit competitions, promoted by the Road Operators Safety Council for 1961, 611 "North Western" drivers and 525 conductors had qualified for awards.
