Ltd for use with its vehicle speed limiters. Vehicle speed data is fed into the unit initially on a rolling road or on an open stretch of road where the vehicle can be run at a constant speed for about 30 seconds. This is sufficient for the instrument to collect enough data to calibrate and desired road speed setting.
A calibration number is shown in the unit's display window, and the unit instructs the user, via the display, on the steps to setting any road speed. As soon as the speeds are set, a lamp on the litniter's dashboard indicator is lit.
Once the calibration number of the vehicle has been recorded, any new speed setting can be made in less than five minutes. The operator can then check whether the limiter is keeping the vehicle to the preset speeds simply by plugging the calibrator into the limiter's dashboard control unit, The calibration instrument is priced at 2150, although Torque will waive the charge to any truck or bus operator who purchases 20 or more of its limiters.
