ANEW type of loading tray. is used for the near-side stretcher of an ambulance built by Wilson and Stockall, Ltd., Bury, Lanes, for Manchester Health Department. It is in the form
to the rear fi,Nf the seat back-rest, which converts into the stretcher platform. Both stretchers have adjustable head rests, whilst the near-side one has a Hairlok bed and pillow.
Double windows are fitted, one glass being clear and the other frosted. Either glass can be used or both can be dropped. A hot-water heating system is installed.
A Bedford 25-cwt. ambulance chassis is used and four vehicles of identical design are being supplied.
