(Amendment) Bill was read for a second time in the House of Lords, last week, the Earl of Birkenhead said that the Government must reserve their final. position with regard to the clause that sought to legalize parking lamps.
They.would not resist the clause during the second reading, he said, but they 132.0 could not give an undertaking that the Minister of Transport would make the appropriate regulations under the permissive powers in the measure.
Lord Birkenhead welcomed the inclusion in the Bill of formal arrangements to simplify procedure regarding the lighting of trolleybuses.
