BUS fares throughout the Province of Quebec have been raised because of increased operating costs. The Provincial Transport Co. stated that the increases were the first levied since the voluntary reduction of fares in 1936, when economic conditions were depressed. The new fares were, in effect, lower than in 1929:
Contract tickets for multiple journeys would be sold at a "heavy discount."
