THE French Government has given French manufacturers exhibiting at the Paris Motor Show, which opened yesterday, a subsidy of Frs. 3,000m. to help them to reduce export prices.
Sixty-six exhibitors have commercial vehicles in the Show. The exhibitors' list includes 33 French manufacturers, 22 British, 19 American, 18 German, six Italian, two Czech and one Spanish. Commercial vehicles at the Show will be reviewed in next week's issue.
"MODERN BUSES AND COACHES" IN "Modern Buses and Coaches," by C. B. Morrissey, published by Temple Press Ltd., Bowling Green Lane, London, E.C.1, operators of public service vehicles who are also fathers of inquisitive off-spring will find a means for silencing all the awkward questions that children are prone to ask. A new addition to the Boys' Power and Speed Library, this book provides a wealth of information on every phase of passenger-vehicle operation.
Although aimed particularly at boys between 10 and 15 years old, the book contains much of interest to every coach
and bus enthusiast. Well illustrated with half-tone pictures and line drawings, the book covers the history of passenger road transport, including a chapter on trams and trolleybuses, deals with the mechanics of vehicle design and operation, and devotes much space. to bus and coach operation in Britain and abroad.
