• Federal Express has given up its battle to make its UK Home Delivery operation profitable and sold it back to Littlewoods — the company it bought the service from in January 1989.
About 2,000 trucks and vans worked on the service and they will be transferred to Littlewoods together with 2,400 home delivery staff. Two FedEx hubs and 31 depots are being axed.
