A PLAN to use buses instead of trains for a feeder to a Wales-Ireland car ferry has run into local opposition.
B&I Line's new service from Pembroke Dock could be served by an existing rail line from Whitland, but British Rail wants instead to hire buses for a service between Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock.
South Pembroke council officials seem alarmed at the prospects of "convoys of buses" transporting the 500 passengers expected daily when the ferry starts next years. Assuming that 50-seat vehicles are used, no n than 10 need operate on journey.
