Roads Minister Peter Bottomley told MPs just before they rose for the summer re cess last week that the Government is to consult on the proposed new regulations to ter direction signs, mainly be cause of the deregulation of I bus industry. The Departmei of Transport says that the cu rent signs were put up on th, basis that buses were of a ce fain weight and size.
However, the introduction minibuses and bigger buses means the present weight re; trictions need revising, and Bottomley told the House tin the Government is going to make a thorough overhaul of the current regulations.
