AGREEAGREEMENT has been reached on MENT
concerning staff redundancy in British Road Services. • The problem will be dealt with On the basis Of service, rather than selectivity, at the levels of group, district, division and • headquarters. The pyincipie of seniority according to total service, irrespective of grade, will be applied if staff have to be down-graded or dismissed.
A statement issued by B.R.S. says that staff will be given all possible assistance to obtain other work. They will also be helped in Connection With-any pension rights they ma' hive. As soon: as a Unit is sold, the buyer Will be asked

B.R.S. have offered to increase the . wages of adults by 4s. a Week at a result of a 'similar proposal made' by the Road Haulage. Wages Council for • free-enterprise road haulage workers. The award 'il1 operate from the date on which the increase granted by the Road Haulage Wages Council comes into effect. The council met on Tuesday to examine objections to the proposal.
The Transport and General Workers' Union are still pressing a claim for increased salaries for clerical and supervisory employees of B.R.S. •
