THE ordinary share capital of Town
sends Carriers, Ltd., Rushden, Northants. has been acquired by another haulage company, E W. Braybrook, Ltd. The directors of Townsends Carriers, Ltd., retired on Tuesday. Mr. D. E. Braybrook has become managing director of the company, and Mr. A. D. Daniels, who had been at the Rushden group office of British Road Services, is general manager.
The companies will operate separately under their own names. No change in Townsencls' staff is expected.
"ROAD 'THROMBOSIS"
BUSES would die of " road thrombosis" L./ unless something were done about congestion in the city. Mr. F. S. Taylor, general manager of Newcastle upon Tyne Transport Department, has warned. In the evenings buses were sometimes running three-quarters of an hour behind schedule.
He suggested experimental " noparking " zones in the centre of Newcastle.
