ONE of the Associated Fisheries Group, the
Humber Warehousing Group Ltd., Grimsby, has acquired four companies as part of the overall development of its transport interests.
The haulage companies which Humber Warehousing has contracted to purchase are B and B (Lowestoft) Ltd., A. E. Balls and C. Moore and Sons Ltd., all of Lowestoft, whose combined fleet strength is 28 vehicles, and J. Shacklock and Sons Ltd., South Dale, 'Caistor, Lincolnshire; the latter concern is mainly engaged in the haulage of building, road making and agricultural materials and insulated container transport. Total fleet strength is nine vehicles, which will continue to operate from Caistor.
New headquarters will shortly be built in Grimsby for the Humber Warehousing group to co-ordinate its interests in transport, warehousing and commercial vehicle construction.
The Lowestoft companies acquired will be operated from the B. and B. depot, Wollaston Road, Lowestoft, until new premises have been acquired. These companies carry mainly fresh and frozen fish and frozen and canned foods from East Anglia.
