DATSUN UK, the independent, privately owner importer of Japanese Nissan Vehicles, has changed its name to Nissan UK as part of the final phase of a three-year corporate campaign to promote the Nissan name.
The UK company will continue at its Worthing premises, and all Datsun dealers will in future display Nissan signs.
Nissan's UK commercial vehicle sales in 1983 totalled 5,841 units comprising 1,438 one-ton payload pick-ups, 106 4x4 pick-ups, 1,671 E23 Panel vans, 1,801 Cabstar models (including chassis cabs and pick-up versions) and 825 Sunny car derived vans.
Nissan's world wide commercial vehicle sales fell slightly in 1983 by 2.9 per cent.
