AN official age limit of 15, up to which children could travel at half fares on public transport was turned down by
the Minister of Transport, Mr. Ernest Marples, in a written answer to Mr. Harold Davies, last week. Mr. Davies asked the Minister if he would introduce such legislation since the official school leaving age was 15 years.
In another written answer, to a question by Mr. R. Gresham Cooke, Mr. Marples said that he was arranging for short sections of three-lane carriageway to be built on th-eA30 and A303, to prevent the build-up of tong convoys of traffic.
