A VEHICLE carrying nine tons of rA carrots between Liverpool and Glasgow when its restricted B licence allowed only the carriage of wool and wool textiles, within a 30-mile radius of Bradford. was the subject of a case before Penrith Bench last week. Mr. Edwin Holt. trading as Edwin Holt Transport, Violet Street Garage, Bradford, was fined £5 for carrying goods not specified on his licence and .1:1 for failing to display his B licence.
In a letter to the Court, Mr. Holt explained that the vehicle had been in the garage for repairs and the B licence had been taken off in the garage, His A-licensed vehicle had broken down and he had no alternative but to use the B-licensed vehicle.
