HE setting-up of a vehicle main tenance advisory committee is being considered by the Metropolitan and south eastern area of the Road Haulage Association. The matter, which has already been raised with sub-areas, will be discussed again next Wednesday.
The area secretary, Mr. G. A. Harris, told The Commercial Motor last week that, althoughthe decision to form a committee had not yet been taken, if it did come into being it would probably have a similar composition to the West Midlands advisory body.
He added the observation that unless the committee was truly representative of road transport operators, and included members of the Traders' Road Transport Association and British Road Services, it would not fulfil much purpose.
