WERE Robert Dickson, Jun., Ltd., VV Dundee, attempting to take over a non-existent business? This question was argued before the Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority, last week, when Dickson's applied for the transfer of a licence from Mr. J. Noble, of Aberdeen, It was stated that Mr. Noble had a licence for three vehicles, although he really ran only one.
Objections were lodged by W. Alexander and Sons, Ltd., British Railways and 12 Aberdeen coach operators. On behalf of Alexander's, a solicitor said that Mr. Noble's statement of accounts made it clear that his firm did not justify their existence. Mr. W. Fletcher, solicitor, said that Mr. Noble had been operating since 1919.
The Authority granted a licence allowing one vehicle to be run.
