A£150,000 fleet of Leyland vehicles is to be used in the building of India's capital city, Gandhinagar, which will rise on the plains of Gujarat State. The vehicles will he built at the Madras plant of Ashok Leyland Ltd., which is currently undergoing a £4m. extension, and will be used in the first phase of the gigantic construction project, Both tipper models and tractive units, the latter hauling 11-ton payload semi-trailers, have been specified.
