We publish on this page a portrait of Mr. William -Frederick Hanbury, transport manager of the Ever-Ready Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., the transport organization of which is described elsewhere in this issue. Mr. Hanbury was educated at Wolverhampton Higher Grade.School and served his apprenticeship with the Rees, Roturbo concern. staying with this company for 10 years and gaining a wide knowledge of electrical and general engineering.
He held the position of outdoor engineer when he left the company to join the Flying Corps as a technical instructor in electrical design and engine construction. After a period of two years with the Flying Corps, Mr. Hanbury joined the Clyno Engineering Co. as road-tester and demonstrator, later transferring his activities to Guy Motors, Ltd., then to the Goodyear tyre concern and back to Guy's.
With the Guy company, Mr. Hanbury devoted his attention to road-testing, demonstrating, and operating and maintaining buses on behalf of municipal authorities and private .undertakings. Six months' service with a Guy agent in Ireland followed, and he then returned to England, accepting the position of transport manager to the Ever
Ready concern. Previously the company's transport was supplied on contract.
Birmingham Agents' New Address.
Messrs. Burton.. and Cole, who specialize in commercial-vehicle repairs, are removing to new premises at 103, Ruston .Street, Birmingham, at which address they will have a large service depot in the interest of Leyland Cub products, for which they are agents.
Exide Battery in Road-tested Chassis.
In connection with our full report 'upon the performance of the Gifford Zeus double-decker chassis, appearing in our issue for April 28, we omitted to state. that the battery fitted was one of the well-known Exide units, made by the Chloride Electrical Storage Co., Ltd., Clifton Junction, Manchester. .
