Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SOURIAU makes a complete range of electronic diagnostic machines mainly for spark ignition engines. However, the Dieseltester is a portable unit taking power supply from the vehicle's own system.

Like other diesel testers the Souriau instrument takes its reading from the fuel line. It is different, however, in that the signals are relayed to a meter which can read rpm and can indicate injector or pump performance. The tester can be fitted to either DPA or in line pumps and may be coupled to an oscilloscope to show graphs of injector pertormance which are compared with standard graphs. Souriau also supplies a compression tester which fits into the injector sleeve to indicate engine condition. One advantage of the Dieseltester is that, using a magnetic HT cable clamp, it may be used on petrol engines.
