A control unit for windscreen wipers which gives intermittent operation and which is available for 24v systems is being produced by W. D. Gilmour of Glastonbury. Like other units of the same type already on the market, the Drizzlemaster, as the control device is called, avoids smearing of the wind screen in , drizzle conditions or when light mud is thrown up from a wet road.
The Drizzlemaster can be used with self-parking wipers but a modified version is offered for vehicles without self-parking facilities. The time between wiper strokes can be several seconds and can be varied infinitely up to normal, continuous operation. As an alternative to one wiping stroke each time (when on intermittent operation) it is possible to modify the Drizzlemaster to give two or three strokes on each operation.
Made by: W. D. Gilmour, Coxbridge House, Coxbridge. Glastonbury, Somerset.
Price: £5 5s.
