Electricians on vehicle maintenance will find many uses for Colclene TE which has been added to the range of products marketed by Alexander Cole. This new product which is made by Du Pont as Freon TE is contained in a 16oz aerosol can and one of its uses is cleaning printed circuit boards—now finding their way more often into vehicle electrical systems.
Colclene TE is an azeotrope of pure fluorocarbon solvent and ethyl alcohol. It is completely volatile, quick drying, nonflammable and low in toxicity. Other claimed properties of the liquid include stability during drying time. As well as removing flux from printed-circuit boards the chemical will clean surfaces of oil, grease and moisture.
