MORE THAN 1,400 member have joined the Institute of Phli sical Distribution Managemen since its formation a year ,agc says chairman Sir Robert Lay rence.
Sir Robert told the Institute' first annual dinner, in Londo last week, that it was on targt for a membership of 2,500 b January next year.
He said that the preliminar results of a study of distributio costs in the United Kingdom an another of salaries would b published early this month.
Sir Robert talked of the IPDM achievements in its first yea and said: "We have set up careers advisory service, a jc opportunities service, a techr cal library for our members, ar a technical and legal advisol service on transport, warehou ing, and other distribution me ters.
"We have established ve good contact with the provide of distribution services, whit we are able to monitor and : give our members accurate ar up-to-date information."
