NEW price cuts for glass-fibre bring the cost of plastics for buses and commercial vehicles closely competitive with pressed steel. Glass Yarns and Deeside Fabrics, an associate of B.T.R. Industries, started the latest " price war" with a reduction in charges for glass-fibre from
4s. 4d. to 3s. 90. a lb. Turner Brother Asbestos, part of the Turner and Newall Group, quickly followed with a similar cut.
Now it is understood that Fibreglass are likely to fall in line, at least so far as similar grades of material are concerned.
