OWNERS of larger motorised caravans — those having an unladen weight of more than 1525kg (33621b) — which are more than three years old will be required to have a current test certificate for their vehicles from January 1, 1978.
Before the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1976 came into operation on January 1, 1977, only the smaller motorised caravans were subject to testing.
The new regulations, how ever, made all motorised caravans of testable age, regardless of weight, subject to testing, but a special provision was made enabling owners of the larger vehicles, which were over three years old, to continue to use them without test certificates until January 1,1978.
