• Volvo has established Volvo Trucks Poland to handle truck sales and servicing in the former Eastern Bloc country. Volvo hopes to increase its new trucks sales there to 300 in 1994 from 160 last year. The company has signed an agreement with Polish truck manufacturer Jelcz to build trucks from CKD kits. Volvo aims to build up to 500 trucks a year at Jelcz production facilities in Wroclaw. Models will include FL6 rigids, FS7 and FH I 2 models. Volvo is negotiating with the Polish government and Jelcz to form a joint venture in Poland.
