AS A VERY old-established Leyland commercial vehicle distributor and chairman of the Leyland Blueline Distributors

Association, parts subcommittee, I must refute the criticism levelled at Leyland Central Parts Operation at Choiley by your correspondent (CM June 22) under the heading, -Same old complaint."

The parts committee of our Association, with Leyland's management, has worked extremely hard for years for the benefit of users and distributors alike and the Parts Management are now proud that the Leyland' parts operation at Chorley is today second to none in the country. If you ask the various associations in the industry, you will find that the service now offered by the Leyland Parts Operation are running at an acceptable level.

The computer communication set up between Leyland and most distributors by means of "Tablet" is an .example of the efficient way the all-important VOR orders are dealt with.

With the introduction in recent years of all the Leyland marques, ie, AEC, Guy, Albion, Daimler, etc, into Central Parts Operation, the task of identifying individual parts is extremely complex for such a wide range of vehicles, but the technical services department is working extremely hard to provide the best possible service.
