MR. HAROLD CLAY will retire; from British' Road Services' board of -Management at the end of tht month: He became assistant general secretary, of the Transport and 'General Workers'. Union in. -1940,:and eight years later joined the Road Transport Executive.' In 1953 he became a part-time member of 'the B.R.S. board of management.
MR. H. H. BATES, managing director of the National Benzoic Co., Ltd., will retire on September 30,• and will be succeeded by MR. A. M. ROBERTSON, general manager. Mr. Bates. remains chairman and managing director, of Benzole Producers, Ltd. He is also a director of Burt, Boulton and Hakwood, Ltd., and William Butler and Co. (Bristol), Ltd.

MR. H. N. GINNS has been appointed deputy chief road engineer for Scotland by the Ministry of Transport. This follows MR. D. I. SWIFT'S decision not to take up the appointment.
MR. J. MCMILLAN, London area trans.port superintendent for the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., has completed 45 years' service with the company, all of them spent in London.
MR. E. S. H. JANES, assistant general advertising manager of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and associated companies, has been elected president of the Incorporated Advertising Managers' Association. He was chairman of the Association last year.
MR. D. W. MORiSON, traffic manager and assistant general manager of Hants and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd., has been appointed general manager in succession to MR. G. H. NAPTIIINE, who is retiring. Mr. Morison has been with the company since 1936.
MR. A. J. SPONG, principal general accounts assistant with the London Transport Executive, has been appointed principal financial investigation assistant. Mg.. A. BOORMAN becomes principal budgets_ assistant with the rank of principal executive assistant.
MISS DOROTHY HALLS and MR. PETER L. WHITE have been appointed to the board 'of Brown and White (Leeds), Ltd., Ford main dealers in Leeds. Miss Hallas has been company secretary for many years, and Mr. White is the son of the present joint managing director.
