• A haulier convicted of receiving stolen trucks was jailed for 18 months at Doncaster Crown Court last week William Hyde of Hyde International Transport of Thornton, near Pocklington, Humberside was convicted of two offences of receiving stolen vehicles.
The two trucks were stolen after Hyde created new identities for them, obtaining chassis and engine number plates and plating certificates from various scrap dealers, the court heard.
Humberside police say that Hyde ran four vehicles on international work, including the stolen vehicles. One, a Renault, was stolen From Pantrans, Immingham in August 1992. The other, a Volvo, was stolen in South Yorkshire the same year.
