Trailers go Dutch NOOTEBOOM Trailers BV, one of the largest semitrailer producers in the Netherlands, has appointed a British importer, Nooteboom (UK) Ltd, and five examples from the product range will be on display at the Motor Show.
Multiaxle drop-deck trailers for heavy and bulky indivisible loads are said to be Nooteboom's speciality, and the Dutch company also supplies waste container handling equipment for both -bodily-lift" skip-loader and roll-on/roll-off systems, Two "double-extendablesemi-lowbed trailers with a deck height of around 800mm (31.5in) will be on show. One has a 54-tonne four-axled bogie with two non-steered and two self-tracking SAF axles and a kingpin rated at 20 tonnes.
The other unit, with an 18tonne kingpin rating, features a 40.5-tonne triaxle bogie on which only the rearmost axle is self-tracking.
Both semi-low beds models are equipped with interconnected fluid suspension, so eliminating the need for balance beams or other mechanical load compensation linkage.
Each axle is located by a pair 'of quarter-elliptic trailing-arm leaf springs, but the suspension proper consists of twoconvolute bellows filled with rubber -ballsimmersed in an alcohol-based liquid.
