THE National Freight Consortium's 17-minute video film to explain to 24,000 employees the plan for them to buy the organisation from the Government is worth more than its weight in gold. After it had been shown at more than 500 places, employees came forward with about £7 million for 6.2 million £1 shares.
Now the programme has won a certificate of merit in the Accountancy Age — Touche Ross Audio Visual Award, 1982, which Brian Cottee, a former editor of Commercial Motor and now NFC head of communication services, received from Sir Douglas Morpeth, chairman of Touche Ross, at a ceremony in London. I hasten to add that it was no easy touch.
