It has presided over the recruitment of 300 traffic wardens who started working in Dublin a month ago and have already operated a "blitz' against illegally parked cars. And a further sign of the new look to city transport has come with the completion of the first Bombardier double-deck buses which are painted green, rather than sand as before.
None of the new buses has yet entered service.
