• Selby magistrates have adjourned a tachograph case against North Yorkshire haulier David Hampshire and four of his drivers. The defence was granted more time to prepare its case.
Driver George Harris of Normanton is alleged to have made false entries on tacho charts on five occasions, and to have taken insufficent daily rest. Nigel Smith of Eggborough is accused of one offence of taking insufficient rest. Paul Barnett of Snaith allegedly drove for more than 41/2 hours without taking the required break on three occassions. Robby ICrygsman of Camblesforth is charged with making a false entry and driving for more than 41/2-hours without taking the proper break.
Hampshire has been charged with seven offences of permitted driver to make false entries and two of permitting them to exceed 41/2-hours driving.
