THE application by the North I.Western Road Car Co., Ltd., Ashton-under-Lyne Corporation and Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield Transport Board to reduce their joint Ashton-Uppermill stage service between Mossley Station and Uppermill, to hourly frequencies after 9 a.m. on weekdays, has been granted in both the North Western and Yorkshire traffic areas.
At the original Yorkshire hearing, the chairman, Maj. F. S. Eastwood, refused to proceed with the application until there had been a meeting between the applicants and the objectors, Saddleworth Urban District Council (The Commercial Motor, Sept. 21, 1956).
