A NEW cv wheel washer, which is operated by the power of the moving wheels of the vehicle being cleaned, is being produced by William Moseley (Engineers) Ltd.
Known as the Mark 7 Wheelwasher, the manufacturers claim it will remove mud, clay, stones and impacted chalk from chassis and wheels in 30 seconds.
The vehicle is driven onto the Wheelwasher and the rotation of the rollers being driven at a road speed equivalent to 30mph will, via a pump, draw clean water from a reservoir or header tank and pump it at high pressure through 12 jets capable of delivering 270 litres (54 gallons) or water per minute.
Made of heavy steel sections and weighing four tonnes, the Wheelwasher is portable and is claimed to need little maintenance life even in the harshest of working environments.
The Moseley Mk 7 Wheelwasher costs £7,900 excluding installation, and is available in two versions for use with either a header tank or reservoir water supply. It can also be leased from £40 per week.
