TRANSPORT manager of British Leyland's Austin-Morris division Mr G. N. Hastie was today presented with a prize from Ailsa Trucks for winning Volvo's "design a Middle East cab" contest. Results of the contest were used in the design of a special cab on a Volvo truck revealed at the Scottish Motor Show—where Mr Hastie received his prize.
Features
Entrants in the contest were asked to choose six features which they felt a Middle East cab should have. Mr Hastie's selection—which was nearest the judging panel's own choice —was : air-conditioning; emergency breakdown " first-aid " parts kit; Donaldson heavyduty filter; first-aid air cushion; water tank; cooker.
