IH, which holds a 37.5 per cent stake in DAF, had applied for a court injunction to prevent the latter from registering as an SV company.
Under Dutch company law, this SV registration would transfer more power to the supervisory board at the expense of the shareholders, even those with a large stake in the company, like International Harvester.
The confrontation has arisen mainly as a result of the IH involvement in the Spanish ENASA company which DAF regards as a potential rival on the European market.
