['HE Road Haulage Association revealed on Tuesday that it had received a letter from the Einistry of Transport inviting views on the )ssibility of changes in drivers' hours, and is understood that the RHA will be canusing the views of members very widely on is before any recommendation is made to the finistry.
Earlier, in reply to remarks at the Labour arty conference, the Association had said it ould be pleased to enter into consultations aimed at improving road safety but there were already severe penalties for infringements of drivers' hours regulations, and strict enforcement should be sufficient. In this context, said the RHA, mention of renationalization seemed irrelevant.
