more bus crews the Thames Valley Traction Company hopes that within the next few weeks it will be able to adhere more rigidly to schedules from the Maidenhead depot.
Mr. C. Lewis, the traffic superintendent, says that for some considerable time staffing problems have caused last-minute cancellations. "Now the position is much better. Since April we have recruited 100 staff, although about 60 others have left."
The percentage of cancellations is considerably lower than for the corresponding period last year, and Mr. Lewis says the original storms of protest about the services have now become isolated complaints.
