AFTER having for 12 years been assistant to the transport controller of Marcom, Ltd., the Government sponsored margarine and cooking-fat
distribution company, Mr. E. C. Chalmers has been appointed manager of the transport section of Stork Margarine Works of Van den Berghs and Jurgens, Ltd., Bromborough, Cheshire.
SIR JOHN BLACK RESIGNS
ON medical advice, Sir John Black, who three weeks ago became chairman of the Standard Motor Co., Ltd., has resigned from all his offices. I4e had an accident las't November. Before becoming chairman in succession to Mr. C. J. Band, he was deputy chairman and managing director. He joined Standard in 1929 and became director and general manager in the following year, when he was only 35.
