PATENT No. 908,258 discloses details of a combustion head intended particularly for petrol engines having large dia meter short-stroke pistons. (Harry Ferguson Research Ltd., " Abbotswood Stow-cin-the-Wold, (ilos.) The piston has a spherically domed top which closely fits the cylinder head except for a recess which holds most of the charge. The cylinder head is also partially domed. The advantages claimed are better turbulence of the charge and ability to give higher compression
