• It has been confirmed by the Ministry of Transport that efficiencies obtained on roadside brake tests of commercial vehicles will be related to the actual running weight at the time. They will not be adjusted to obtain an estimation of what the efficiency would be at the maximum legal weight or plated weight of the vehicle.
In other words, if a part-laden vehicle produces the efficiency legally expected of it, this will be acceptable althoughr a substandard efficiency would logically be expected at the higher weight permitted.
