AS an ambulance driver whose chief source of 1--t accidents is the A5 road between St. Albans and Markyate, I have often been puzzled as to the cause of the head-on collisions between lorries on some of the straight 1 sections of this main trunk road. The correspondence which has appeared in your columns in connection with the light code appears to throw light on this matter as well. If some drivers use a one-flash signal to indicate "come through" and the others the same signal as a warning" wait, I am coming through." it is small wonder that these head-on collisions occur.
