THREE riveting machines are included in the Bryden range of brake-servicing machines and the company also produces an abrasive belt linisher. All the riveters can handle tubular non-ferrous rivets up to tin. diameter. The Mk 1 riveter is foot-operated while the Mk 3 and Mk 4 models are pneumatically operated. Fitted with larger tubing and valves, the Mk 4 has a quicker action than the Mk 3 and is suitable for relining on a flow-production • basis. Pneumatic operation reduces operator fatigue.
Old rivets can be punched out by these machines and new linings can be riveted after a quick change of the tools. They will accommodate most sizes and types of brake shoe from small moped shoes up to large brake bands as used in heavy earth-moving vehicles, the range of rivet diameters being
Free air consumption of the pneumatic models at 80 psi is about 0.162 cu ft/stroke. The models are fitted with a Slimline head and a deep throat which facilitates the handling of -difficultshoes.
The linisher has a 9in, belt and is designed for "free hand" iinishing of relined brake shoes. It removes finger marks or other blemishes from the lining surface and it is effective in the removal of rust or deposits from the face of the shoe before the lining is fitted.
