Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Elite Works, Station Road, Lawford, Manningtrea, Essex.

THE Elite Simplex wall-type planning board employs a combination of coloured magnetic signals which slide to the left or right on metal panels. The board surface is precision grooved to form straight horizontal lines to locate the signals and it is marked in divisions of 10mm so that the rows of signals can be kept in line. Two types of signal are available. One is 3mm in diameter covered in PVC and available in eight contrasting colours. The second has a painted finish with an outside diameter of 4mm; it is available in 11 colours. In both cases standard lengths supplied are 5mm, 10rnm, 20mm and 30mm but in addition the PVC-covered type is available with a length of 250mm which can be cut with ordinary scissors to make any length required.

Basic operation of the Simplex system is that the permanently magnetized signals are merely placed into position in the grooves. When changes in position are necessary whole rows of signals can be pushed along the grooves without disturbing-the sequence in the row. A cursor is provided this being made of woven elastic with metal clips at both ends for fitting to the top and bottom edges of the boards.

When written information is required on a planning board, two methods are available. In one, magnetized rubber title holders, in two widths, fit into one or two lines respectively. These are supplied in a length of 150mm, precut for breaking into lengths of 10mm. Written information is typed or written on to self-adhesive coloured or white paper strips which are placed on the surface of the title holder. The second method is to use cards with visible titles positioned in a card holder which is located by guides at the top and bottom of the board; the card holder slides easily in front of the panels for easy reference.

Framed boards are supplied these having 117 horizontal lines and measuring overall 30in. wide by 31 .Sin. high. But more flexibility is provided by using a modular system which uses 10in. by 31.5in. high panels. These are carried in double-track top and bottom rails in which the line panels can be moved sideways. While the second track accommodates the title-card holder it can also hold one or more boards in front of the main panels. The title cards for using the card holder measure 5.8in. by 4.1in. and are ruled horizontally.
