DURING the week commencing September 2, a shop-to-shop census will be taken to collect evidence about the effect of the proposed banning of the loading and unloading of goods vehicles in 23 important shopping centres in Greater London;
The census is being organized by the Traders' Road Transport Association in preparation for the public inquiry, the date of which is not yet known, to hear objections to the Minister of Transport's suggested restrictions.
The census will be held in streets in Westminster and Acton, Bromley, Camberwell, Deptford, Hackney, Stoke Newington, Hampstead, Willesden, Ilford, Kingston upon Thames, Lambeth, Leyton, Paddington, St. Marylebone, Richmond, Wandsworth and Wembley.
