TARPAULINS which require no securing ropes are being produced and marketed by G. H. Morrison (Tarpaulins) Ltd, of Lombard Wall, London SE7, The use of ropes to secure tarpaulin and load is the main cause of damage to a normal tarpaulin and reduces its life considerably. With the Morrison security sheet, however, no ropes are required at all for the load, except for polypropylene tieropes around the edge of the sheet.
The actual panels, made from pvc nylon, are seamed together and 5cm (2in) strips of nylon webbing are sewn over the seam. The webbing is then turned back and a galvanized steel D-ring inserted to which is spliced the polypropylene securing rope, Breaking strain of the sheets is 2,270kg (5,0001b).
Delivery normally takes seven to 10 days and the price is approximately £1.20 per yard.
