TWO 12m (40ft) refrigerated containers have been built by Humber McVeigh Transport's Link Container division in Grimsby for Castlemahon Co-operative Poultry Products Ltd of Limerick. They are the first two Link Containers to go to Ireland, and are manufactured to TIR requirements.
The containers are insulated throughout — walls, floor, roof and doors — with 13cm (Sin) rigid foam polyurethane and, internally, there is a covering of 2mm aluminium headboard planking. The external coverage is 1mm aluminium.
They are refrigerated by a Polarstream liquid nitrogen system mounted below the trailer.
Built on a York LD34 40f trailer, each unit has ar unladen weight of 7 ton: 61/2cwt and they are fittec with 30cwt rack lift tail units
